MMOexp POE2: Bring gear with high resistances

What Is an Ascendancy Class?

Each main class in Path of Exile 2 can evolve into POE2 Currency an Ascendancy class—a subclass with its own unique mini-skill tree. These subclasses let you hone in on specific roles or mechanics. For instance, a ranger might become a Deadeye for high-speed projectile combat, while a shadow might evolve into a Saboteur, focusing on traps and mines.

Choosing the right Ascendancy for your build is key. But first, you need to unlock it.

Step One: Trial of the Sehkemas (Act 2)

To initiate your journey toward Ascendancy, you must complete the Trial of the Sehkemas, found in Act 2. This trial becomes available after you defeat Balbala, the Traitor, in the Traitor’s Passage. Be sure to loot the Barya Coin from her—it’s your access token for the trial.

The trial itself is a deadly gauntlet consisting of seven rooms, each packed with unique hazards, traps, and negative modifiers. These aren’t just tests of strength—they’re tests of awareness, timing, and resource management.

The most important mechanic here is the Honour Meter. It functions like a shared health pool across the entire trial. Every hit you take reduces your honour. When it reaches zero, you’re kicked out and must start over.

Tips for success:

Bring gear with high resistances.

Use evasion or movement-based skills.

Upgrade your Flasks beforehand.

Learn trap patterns before rushing forward.

Completing the trial unlocks the Altar of Ascendancies, where you’ll choose your subclass and gain your first two Ascendancy points.

Step Two: Trial of Chaos (Act 3)

Your next step in the Ascendancy journey comes in Act 3, where you can earn two more Ascendancy points by completing the Trial of Chaos. First, you must defeat Xyclucian, the Chimera, in the Chimeral Wetlands. He drops the Chimeral Inscribed Ultimatum, which grants access to the trial.

Unlike the first trial, the Trial of Chaos introduces a modifier system. Before entering, you must select a debuff that will persist across every room. This adds a strategic layer, forcing you to cheap POE 2 Exalted Orbs pick your poison—do you want reduced life regen or stronger enemies?
